Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
To have and be able to rest in the perfect peace, the Shalom Shalom Supernatural Peace in our unfinished story, Romans 5 tells us that comes through being justified by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have obtained access by faith through Christ. We have been reconciled through the cross of Jesus. By faith... in the work of Jesus on the cross. The question is: Have you placed your faith in Jesus? Only when you answer YES, can you have RIP engraved on your tombstone.
The sermon began by asking the question: What happens after death? Instead of answering with "I don't know...", invite Jesus into your life as Savior and as Lord. Relinquish the throne of your heart and let Him take full control.
Death is only the beginning of eternity. In light of forever, all the hardships and trials and suffering on this side of the Jordan serve a beautiful purpose: producing character, spiritual maturity and hope. "Hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured intou our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." The Holy Spirit is our seal!
And faith... we practice faith every day and in so many ways. Yet, we hesitate when invited to place our faith on God through Jesus Christ. Put away the doubt. Crucify your old self and let Christ reign in your life...
And DEATH becomes the greatest beginning to your unfinished story... R.I.P.
