In His Peace: Peace in Our Unfinished Story
John 16:33
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
How would you react if you saw a person alive when you just witnessed his death?
When Jesus appeared after His cruicifixion, in John 20:19-28, three times He said, "Peace be with you." He spoke peace over them. That's the most appropriate thing to say as the disciples were filled with fear.
In our daily lives, God is still speaking peace in the midst of our unfinished story. He isn't waiting for you to resolve all your problems... He speaks peace to you now... IN YOUR CURRENT SITUATION AND SEASON.
John Wu gave us the acronym to help us to apply that PEACE in our daily lives.
P - PRAY
E - EXALT
A - ABIDE
C - CONFESS
E - ENTRUST
Through the hardships that Christ leads us through, we come to experience more of His peace. We can't wait until ... and then experience peace. We experience PEACE while the story is being written. We can trust the AUTHOR! When situations come to steal our peace, we turn again to our God and say, Lord I give this to you. I'm willing to keep doing what you want me to do..." Let the peace of God guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus! SHALOM! SHALOM!
