On Goodness

This past Sunday, Pastor Luke Yang continued with this month's theme of In His Goodness by looking at Psalm 100:5

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

and Genesis 1.

Throughout Creation, God uttered the sentence: It was good... Each aspect of creation exhibited God's character of His goodness. From the very first chapter of the Bible, the foretelling of His love, grace and goodness in providing Salvation was already depicted. And God declared by the sixth day, IT WAS VERY GOOD!

In Genesis 3:24, Adam and Eve sinned and were driven out of the Garden of Eden.

24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Through God's redeeming goodness, He sent His beloved Son, Jesus. Ephesians 2:8-10 says,

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God redeemed us through Jesus Christ so that we can walk in the good works that He has ordained and prepared for us. As believers, wherever we go, others should see God's goodness.

Galatians 5:22-23 says,

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Through Christ and His Holy Spirit, we are filled with His goodness and we flow with His goodness.

As we live in light of this truth, may God look upon us and say, IT IS VERY GOOD!
