Living in His Presence through ACTS

What does it mean to live in God's presence? For what purpose did Jesus give us the Holy Spirit?
When reading the book of Acts, we often focus on the miracles of the lames being healed or jail doors being opened or chains falling. But the real focus of the book of Acts (with the coming of the Holy Spirit) is for us to receive power so that we can be witnesses! That's the MAIN EVENT! That's living in His Presence.
Before Jesus ascended, He charged His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20, saying...

Make disciples. Baptize them. Teach them. Be witnesses!
In Acts 4, Peter and John were arrested for PROCLAIMING AND TEACHING. They were released because of the healing that had taken place! What were they proclaiming and teaching?

It's that simple! Those who arrested Peter and John took noticed that they were uneducated, untrained, common men. But what power they had in the message they preached? Where did that power come from? Not from gimmicks. Not from charisma. Not from talent. Not from eloquence. But from the Presence of God.
How about you? Do you believe Jesus is real? Do you believe He has given you the Holy Spirit? As followers of Jesus, it's time for us to fulfill Acts 1:8 and be His witnesses, because the Holy Spirit has come! It's time to LIVE in HIS PRESENCE!
