Christ walks with you...
This past Sunday (March 15th) Pastor Luke spoke from Exodus 12:40-42, sharing a beautiful message entitled: Moving Forward: From Old to New!
Do you remember some of his main points? Let me help you!
This passage points to the fulfillment of God's promise made in Genesis 15:13-14. We are reminded that no matter how long the wait might be God will keep His word. Be encourage! God always keeps His promise!
When the promise is fulfilled, God changed the Isralites' status from being slaves to be the Lord's Divisions, in another word, they had become God's armies!
And what does that mean? What are the characteristics of a soldier in God's army?
We are encouraged to be disciplined, courageous, vigilant, obedient, and willing to suffer! And as we leave Egypt, we are leaving the suffering and hopelessness and troubles of this world. The time of this departure, 'this night', represents the end of the old and the waiting for the new to come. And even though it is dark at night, we need not fear for our LORD is our Shepherd. He is the One who leads and guides and brings light upon our path. He makes our path straight!
The sermon shared four ways to KEEP moving forward once we have been brought out of Egypt by our LORD.
We need to keep our heart above all else (Proverbs 4:23).
We need to gain wisdom (Proverbs 10:17).
We need to increase in God's covenant love (Deut. 7:9).
We need to enjoy PEACE (Proverbs 28:7)
Paul charged believers to move forward – DAILY-- with Philippians 3: 13-14! Take the time to read and memorize these verses...
Indeed God's lovingkindness is new every morning. Great is His faithfulness!
