He Is Risen

Resurrection Sunday was just a few days ago... In fact, this year it was celebrated with a four day weekend! What a blessing... But now, we are back to our 'routine'? And yet, as I reflect upon the events after the resurrection, I think we can never 'go back to our routine'! Resurrection LIVING is a daily choice... just as Christ is our LIVING HOPE!
I want to quote Eugene H. Peterson's book, Living The Resurrection:
"Our four Gospel writers all complete their narrations of the gospel of Jesus with a story or stories of Jesus' resurrection. They come at it from different directions and provide different details, but one element is common to each of them: a sense of wonder, astonishment, surprise. Despite the several hints scattered throughout the Hebrew Scriptures and Jesus' three explicit statements forecasting his resurrection (see Mark 8:31, 9:31, 10:34), when it happened, it turned out that no one -- no one -- expected it. The first people involved in Jesus' resurrection were totally involved in dealing with his death. Now they had to do a complete about-face and deal with a life. As they did it, they were suffused with wonder."
That's what I hope these past few days and the days ahead will be filled with: Resurrection Wonder! Living the Resurrection should be a daily bolt of wonder. Our hearts should be astonished... the kind of astonishment that leads us to bow and worship... to offer our lives as a living sacrifice... to revere God...
I have more to share on this... But I close this blog with Matthew 28: 6:
He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where he lay.
