Trust in God’s Precision Timing: Part V

March 13, 2026

God is in control in the midst of your waiting… Because our God hears our prayers… Read on to be encouraged!

Part V--

Exodus 2:23-25: "During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them." Exodus chapter 2 tells us: God heard. God remembered. God looked upon. God knew. Four verbs. God is not a cold God. He heard their sighs, and He remembered His covenant. But He still waited until the 430 years were fulfilled. What does this tell us about God’s character? How does this encourage you in your waiting season? How can you apply this truth in your life?

God's response is not just emotional, but planned; it is not impulsive, but according to the rhythm of His eternal will. He manages time and He also manages the process. Those four verbs were true about God back then and they are still true about God now. God hears our groaning and He remembers the covenant through the blood of Jesus. Daily God looks upon our lives and He knows. He is sovereign and remains in control despite what we might think. The chaos that surround us does not negate the truth of who God is!

So, during the waiting, what was God doing? God was preparing Moses. He was being shaped in the wilderness (Exodus 3). In addition, God was raising up the environment so that the hearts of the people would turn to Him. Furthermore, God was also shaping the nation of Israel, so that they grew in suffering and multiplied under oppression (Exodus 1:12). At the same time, God was waiting for sin to be full. Isn’t that an amazing thought? Genesis 15:16 says: "for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure." And in the waiting, God also calls His people to do one thing—cry out to Him. Psalm 34:17 says: "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." Waiting is not passive silence, but prayer and patience with faith.

So today, in our season of waiting, are we taking the time to cry out to God? Are we waiting with patience and with faith? Can we trust God in this season of waiting? The question we all need to ask ourselves is: Is God who He says He is through His word? So often we have defined God by our circumstances instead of truth. God is dealing with our unbelief and leading us to see how His promise of His daily Presence overcomes our doubts. Psalm 27:14 says,

Wait for and confidently expect the Lord;

Be strong and let your heart take courage;

Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.

The message continues tomorrow with Part VI… Until than -- Be strong! Take heart! Take courage! Be confident! Expect the Lord!
