God is precise!
God uses brokenness!
God multiplies even in times of oppression!
“Father God, as I read these posts, may Your Spirit speak into my heart and help me to love you more! In Jesus’ name – Amen”
Part IV--
Genesis 47:6: "...and the land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and your brothers in the best part of the land. Let them live in Goshen. And if you know of any among them with special ability, put them in charge of my own livestock."
Exodus 8:22: "‘But on that day I will deal differently with the land of Goshen, where my people live; no swarms of flies will be there, so that you will know that I, the Lord, am in this land."
Exodus 9:4: "But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.’"
Exodus 9:26: "The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were."
Exodus 10:23: "No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived."
Jacob's family of 70 entered Egypt and lived in the land of Goshen. The Bible says that was the best land in the country of Egypt. God provided Jacob and the entire family the best of Egypt during a difficult time of a very harsh famine. Later, when God sent ten plagues: the plague of flies, the plague of hail, the plague of darkness, the Bible repeatedly emphasizes: "Only in the land of Goshen there was no disaster." Remember: the land of Goshen was not outside of Egypt. God did not lead the people out of Egypt first, but preserved and protected them within Egypt. What important truth do you feel God is trying to tell you? When I was preparing the talk, I felt as if the Lord was saying to me: God's people may not necessarily be exempt from the turmoil of the environment, but they are preserved amidst judgment. Just like during the pandemic, some people lost their jobs, some were confirmed infected, and some had economic difficulties, but there were also many Christians who experienced God's wonderful preservation. It's not that there is no storm, but that there is peace in the storm. The land of Goshen is God's preservation. I especially love how the land of Goshen did not experience utter darkness when the land of Egypt was struck with such darkness that no one could see or move for three days. What kind of darkness would paralyze people so much that they could do nothing? And yet, in Goshen, there was light!
May God’s light shine in your heart… Part V… Tomorrow!
